Software Engineer — Java / Big Data / Cloud

Make an Impact Where It Matters Most

At Intelliforce, we build mission-ready engineering solutions that directly support national security operations. In this role, you will help develop large-scale data processing capabilities that power real-world intelligence outcomes. The work is deep in the stack, focused on distributed systems, cloud-enabled environments, and software that must perform reliably under real mission demand. This role gives you the chance to work on software built for scale, speed, and mission impact. You will design Java services, support distributed data processing workflows, optimize performance, and integrate cloud-based capabilities into production platforms. Responsibilities

• Design and build software components that process large volumes of data across distributed environments
• Develop new Java services that support mission data processing
• Optimize MapReduce workflows and improve system performance
• Troubleshoot production issues across distributed platforms
• Integrate cloud-based capabilities into existing mission systems
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and mission stakeholders to translate operational needs into scalable technical solutions
• Support coding, debugging, integration, and continuous improvement of production systems

Qualifications

• Clearance: Top Secret Clearance with Polygraph, must be active. We do not have the ability to sponsor clearances
• Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen. We cannot sponsor visas
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline and at least seven years of Software Engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Four additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree
• Demonstrated experience working with distributed data systems and cloud-enabled environments is required

Required Skills

• Strong software development experience using Java
• Experience with the MapReduce programming model and associated technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, and Pig
• Experience working with distributed Big Data platforms
• Familiarity with NoSQL data stores such as HBase, Accumulo, or BigTable
• Experience with Hadoop Distributed File System, HDFS
• Cloud environment experience
• Ability to design, develop, debug, and integrate complex software systems
• Experience working with serialization formats such as JSON or BSON
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Desired Skills

• Experience with GhostMachine or QTA environments
• Familiarity with large-scale analytics platforms
• Experience optimizing performance for high-volume data pipelines
• Ability to work independently in mission-driven environments

Compensation

Posted Annualized Salary: $139,000 – $179,000
