About the role

Join a team building software that helps analysts make sense of complex mission activity in real time. These capabilities support content and traffic triage, language analysis, workflow collaboration, transcription and sourcing services, and the capture of workflow history across analysts, teams, and organizations. The work is centered on context, helping users see what has happened, what is happening now, and what matters most across workflow and content records. This is a strong fit for an engineer who likes building software with a clear mission, direct user impact, and real operational value. There are also two openings on this team, which speaks to the momentum and growth behind the work.

This role puts you close to the mission and close to the user. You will help build and enhance systems that manage workflow state, preserve historical awareness, and give analysts better visibility across content, activity, and decision points over time. The work sits at the intersection of data, workflow, and mission awareness, which means you are building software with a clear job to do and a direct line to real analyst outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance software supporting analyst workflows, contextual state tracking, and mission visibility.
• Build capabilities that capture, store, and expose workflow process states across users, teams, and organizations.
• Develop features that allow analysts to view contextual state for data of interest and better understand activity over time.
• Support systems that monitor historically significant characteristics and track status changes from one workflow state to another.
• Improve software that helps analysts understand what has transpired or is currently in progress against specific content or workflow records.
• Work with system engineers, mission stakeholders, and other technical teams to translate workflow needs into scalable software solutions.
• Debug defects, improve performance, and help ensure systems remain stable, usable, and mission-ready.
• Contribute to documentation, testing, and continuous improvement across the software lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Clearance: Top Secret Clearance with Polygraph, must be active. We do not have the ability to sponsor clearances.
• Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen. We cannot sponsor visas.
• Experience: 20 years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four additional years of SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Additional Experience: 5 years of demonstrated cloud experience with distributed, scalable big data stores such as HBase, CloudBase or Accumulo, BigTable, or similar technologies. Experience with MapReduce tools such as Hadoop, Hive, or Pig. Experience with HDFS. Experience with serialization methods such as JSON or BSON

Required Skills

• Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems in mission-focused environments.
• Experience designing and implementing software tied to workflows, data processing, or analyst-facing capabilities.
• Ability to build new software features and improve existing capabilities in large-scale systems.
• Experience debugging software issues and resolving defects in operational environments.
• Experience integrating software into existing systems and supporting evolving mission needs.
• Experience working with data repositories, workflow-driven systems, or context-rich applications.
• Ability to support testing, documentation, and continuous improvement of software standards and processes.
• Experience collaborating with system engineers, customers, and multidisciplinary technical teams.

Desired Skills

• Experience supporting analyst workflows, contextual data tracking, or mission process visibility.
• Experience with content triage, transcription workflows, language analysis, or sourcing-related capabilities.
• Experience with cloud and big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig, HDFS, HBase, Accumulo, JSON, or BSON.
• Experience building systems that preserve state history, track record movement, or surface context to end users.
• Strong communication, debugging, and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an Agile environment and contribute across the full software lifecycle.

Compensation

Posted Annualized Salary: $196,000 – $252,000
