About the role
This role is perfect for someone who bridges the gap between traditional systems administration and modern CloudOps. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the health of our cloud infrastructure, managing and monitoring complex data flows, and ensuring our environment remains secure through rigorous testing. The ideal candidate will support system administration using AWS, and have experience administering NiFi. Key Responsibilities: Cloud Infrastructure Management: Deploy, manage, and scale AWS resources (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda). Optimize cloud spending and ensure high availability across environments. Data Orchestration: Maintain and optimize Apache NiFi clusters. Design and troubleshoot data routing, transformation, and system-to-system delivery logic. Security & Compliance: Perform regular security testing, including vulnerability scans. Assist in remediating findings to maintain a hardened security posture. Automation & Scripting: Develop scripts (Bash, Python, or PowerShell) to automate repetitive tasks and integrate security tools into the CI/CD pipeline. Monitoring & Support: Provide Tier 2/3 support for system outages. Utilize monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. Required Skills/Experience: Strong proficiency in Linux (RHEL/AL2023) AWS Expertise: Proven experience managing AWS environments Data Flow Knowledge: Direct experience configuring and monitoring Apache NiFi or similar ETL/orchestration tools. Desired Skills/Experience: Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation). Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with accreditation, ATO, SSP Maintenance. CI/CD (Git) and Jira/Confluence for ticket tracking/documentation. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer Associate, or RHCSA certifications Description: Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process. Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
Qualifications
Requirements: Ten (10) years experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
